Lorem Ipsum for Wireframes

Wireframes exist to settle structure: what goes where, in what hierarchy, at what relative weight. Placeholder text in a wireframe should support that conversation and nothing else.

This preset produces dense, uniform blocks — deliberately uninteresting text that reads as grey mass rather than content. That is the right property at this stage, because anything more distinctive pulls reviewers into discussing copy before the layout is agreed.

How to use Lorem Ipsum for Wireframes

Boring is the point

At wireframe stage, standard Latin beats the themed variants precisely because nobody wants to read it. Save hipster, cupcake, and Gen Z ipsum for high-fidelity mockups where tone is part of what you are presenting.

Vary block sizes to show hierarchy

Uniform blocks everywhere flatten the page. Use longer blocks for primary content and shorter ones for secondary areas so the wireframe communicates relative importance without needing real copy.

Say it is placeholder, out loud

Even in an obviously low-fidelity wireframe, stakeholders ask about the Latin. Naming it up front costs one sentence and keeps the review on structure.
